The penetration force, which occurs when the tip of the hypodermic needle inserts into the skin, is directly related to the pain felt by a person. It is said that the less penetration force, the less pain. Therefore, the penetration force is an important factor for hypodermic needle quality control and R&D. This video shows how to perform the peak penetration force and average Drag force test of a hypodermic needle complying with ISO 7864: 2016. The testing speed and needle penetration depth which specified in the standard can be easily set with IMADA's measuring instruments. In addition, the peak penetration force and average Drag force results required by the standard, can also be displayed and calculated automatically by using IMADA's force-displacement graphing software. It is useful for hypodermic needle's quality control and R&D.
