This puncture test of a paper straw measures the force when the pointed tip of a paper straw is punctured into the heat-sealed film lid of a beverage cup container. With the spread of paper straws in recent years, improvements in strength, durability, and usability are sought after. This method delivers a good indication of strength. Additionally, there are jigs suitable for bending strength testing of paper straws, which can also assist R&D and quality control of paper straws.
